Cardiac Evaluation

  • Echocardiography
An echocardiogram (echo) is a test that uses high frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to make pictures of your heart. The test is also called echocardiography or diagnostic cardiac ultrasound.

  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
An electrocardiogram abbreviated as EKG or ECG  is a test that measures the electrical activity of the heartbeat. With each beat, an electrical impulse  travels through the heart. This wave causes the muscle to squeeze and pump blood from the heart. A normal heartbeat on ECG will show the timing of the top and lower chambers.
  • Electromyogram (EMG)
Electromyography (EMG) is an electrodiagnostic medicine technique for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. EMG is performed using an instrument called an electromyograph to produce a record called an electromyogram.
